Ritual elements
- Wedding band warming: where the rings are sent around your guests during the ceremony for them to offer a thought or wish for your future lives together
- Handfasting: the origin of ‘tying the knot’. A Pagan / Celtic tradition where ribbons or cloth are draped over the couple’s clasped hands and then tied into a knot symbolising the binding of two live in a union of strength and unity forever. A symbolic and visual element.
- I can provide any colour of grosgrain ribbon, but any specific cloth is best sourced by you
- Ceremony Certificate: The couple and two witnesses each in turn sign a keepsake parchment or certificate. I can provide a template but most prefer to have one designed in their own unique style
- Unity Sand Ceremony: symbolising the joining of the couple, this involves pouring sand into a vessel of couple’s choice. This acts as a keepsake. It is a nice way for children to be involved and sand from a place significant to the couple can be used
- Wine Box/Love Letter: the couple will write love letters to each other before the wedding which they will seal in an envelope. They will choose their favourite bottle of wine or drink of choice and place these and any other memorabilia in the wine box. The box is sealed until an anniversary of their choice
- Tree Planting: a memorable ceremony where a tree of choice is planted by the couple commemorating the occasion
- Wine Ceremony: the couple bring a wine of significance to them both and pour from separate glasses into one to create a new drink and symbolise their coming together. Using a glass of white wine and glass of red wine to create a blush is often preferred
- First Kiss, Last Kiss: the mothers of the couple are called upon to join the bride(s) and groom(s) near the end of the ceremony. The mothers gave their children their first kiss when they came into the world and they will give their last kiss as single individuals before sending them on their new journey as husband, wife, or life partner
- Message receptacle: each guest writes a thought or message to the couple about their wishes for their life together. These are placed in a receptacle of their choice as a memento of the day
- Bespoke ritual of your choice which I will help bring to life!
(Any rituals in addition to the 3 included in the standard fee are charged at £50 each)
